“D” Hotel dog house Designed by HKS Inc
On Friday, May 15, one lucky canine can begin enjoying the sleek and modern luxury of the W Hotel at home in the form of a custom-made “D” Hotel dog house designed by HKS Inc. Standing around 6 feet tall, 7 feet long and 30 inches wide, the canine abode is made of wood and mirrored plexiglass.
The special structure offers a first-floor enclosed space and second-floor open deck area padded for canine comfort. Understandably, the letter “D” replaces the real hotel’s signature “W” to complete the home’s look. HKS dog house sponsors Texas Paint & Wallpaper and LIGHTBLOCKS provided the paint and acrylic material for the effort, respectively.

Caesars Palace dog house Designed by Lou Saksen
As an architect I am a modernist, however, I have a keen appreciation for the classics, thus, in the process of designing the dog house; I decided to evoke an image that would be recognizable to a great number of the potential bidders. It was also an opportunity to demonstrate the polychromatic expression of the Greek temple which is much more historically accurate than the off white mental model that most people have of the ancient buildings. The doghouse is 3’H x 4’L x 2’W.
